Research and Publication Background

Injibara College of Teacher Education (ICTE) has been working to carry out its share of responsibility towards the fulfillment of the College’s grand vision to become the leading public premier college in the country. To that end, the college has been making sure that researchers would get the forums to present their research work and share ideas with fellow scholars.  The college encourages (both from ICTE and other institutions) to conduct educational research geared towards the improvement of the country’s education system in general and the Amhara region in particular.

Academic staff has been conducting researches in different topics that are expected to have immense importance in solving educational problems in and outside the college, particularly in primary schools. All the research activities are conducted either with financial assistance from the regional educational Bureau or with research grants from the college budget.

Research outputs which are carried out at the college are communicated to the end users through different routes (means), including annual research symposiums held every year. Hence, ICTE organizes two educational research symposiums annually. One is Zonal Action research symposium, which is entirely devoted to the dissemination of action research reports undertaken by practitioners of primary schools (teachers, principals and supervisors). The second symposium is college-based research symposium which focuses on the dissemination of educational research undertaken by the staff members. In the coming years, the college will host national research symposium undertaken by scholars working in different higher institutions of Ethiopia, including ICTE to create opportunities for experience sharing on multi-faceted issues of education and educational research among educators of ICTE and other higher institutions of the country.

Our journal has obtained the International Standard Serial Number – ISSN: 2709 – 9334 from Data, Network and Standard Documents, ISSN International Centre. As a result, our journal of educational research has been published bearing this international code of recognition and standard. This is the biggest opportunity to advance our college research status in the Research, Publication and Dissemination Unit. It is also a big opening for tireless and diligent researchers to develop their research abilities.
